Open Ohr Mainz 2026

This year we once again had the opportunity to organize a stand for the democracy festival "Open Ohr" in Mainz. As last year, we greatly enjoyed this exciting project and are taking you behind the scenes.

Alleinsam: loneliness and democracy

Under the motto "Alleinsam", the festival focused on loneliness over Pentecost weekend. To make space for this social taboo topic under bright sunshine, we decided to bring back last year's dialogue ribbons.

What did people do at our stand?

We brought colorful paper, ribbons and questions, and participants brought their thoughts and experiences. Sitting on comfortable cushions, people from very different age groups quickly started talking.

In the end, we were happy to collect 64 dialogue ribbons with thoughts and wishes about loneliness and democracy, and how the two are connected.
